ABOUT US:Tom Tarby and his wife, Joan, have owned the Colonial Tavern since the summer of 1985. They both grew up in Seymour, CT and have lived in Oxford for seventeen years. Tom attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After graduation, he worked at the Omni Parker House in Boston, the Curtis House in Woodbury, CT, and the Copper Beach Inn in Ivoryton, CT. The Colonial Tavern was abosolutely wonderful. I had my reception semi casual outside on the patio and I could not have asked for anything more perfect. The owner and waitstaff were extremley helpful and totally went above and beyond, they are such nice people. There is nothing I would have changed about it I would do everthing there again the same if I had to do it again.I got so many complments on how delicous the food was and how smooth everything went. It was just wonderful!!!!!
